Organic. No till. Sustainable.
From our farm to your family.
Beets & Blooms Farm strives to provide our community with organically grown vegetables and flowers. We believe that the food we eat and the flowers we bring into our homes should be free from harmful pesticides and synthetic fertilizers, which is why it is so important to us that we use organic and sustainable farming practices. This ensures that we leave the land better than we found it while also benefiting our customers and the health of our community.
The Farmers
-
Brittany Hall
Farmer, Owner
Brittany began farming in 2018 following a career in social services, including the housing coordinator for a refugee resettlement agency and case manager at the state of Hawai’I’s SNAP employment program. Eventual burnout led to a career-change and she hasn’t looked back since. Brittany’s experiences in the social service sector have helped to hone a meticulous attention to detail and a passion for providing healthy food to everyone. You can frequently find Brittany saying encouraging words to baby plants, cooking delicious food for family and friends, and listening to audiobooks while she plants and harvests. Brittany is our resident veggie expert and field manager. When she’s not on the farm Brittany is busy working with other beginner farmers in the state as a Project Coordinator at UConn Solid Ground.

Caley Brooks
Farmer, Owner
Caley began farming in 2019 and she is the brains behind Beets & Blooms flower operation, where she delights in how flower farming combines her love of being outside, creativity, working with her hands, and bringing joy to others. Around the farm you’ll find Caley gently nudging sleeping bees awake when she’s trying to harvest flowers in the early mornings, or delighting over learning about a new beneficial insect she’s found. Off the farm Caley can be found playing for CT Roller Derby where everyone calls her by her favorite food, Pickle.
Our Farm
Beets & Blooms Farm sits on 12 acres of field and forest just over the Portland line in East Hampton, minutes from the Connecticut River. Our growing space benefits from the fertile soil of the Connecticut River Valley and we are taking care to restore the soils from fallow hay field to thriving organic farm.
Our search for land began at the end of 2019 and continued through the COVID-19 pandemic. We walked numerous properties across the state, fingers crossed over and over again that we’d found the perfect place. Finally, on a snowy day in March 2022 we walked a property that had everything we’d been hoping for…minus a few key infrastructures! We closed April 2022 and Beets & Blooms Farm finally had a home.
